Stiching the hull 01A picture of the bow, just stitched. And almost instantly it seems we have a hull. Actually it is just stitched in place, and still needs to be glued. In truth I managed to really make a mess of it. Some how I shifted both side panels around 1/2 inch forward. I think what I did is I measured from one of the lines I used to plot out the panels. That is a line that did not follow the contour of the panel, but was measured strait back from the tip. If you do not wish to start stiching right from on end, you must measure along the panel edge to your starting point, ensuring you measure the same distance on both edges . Because of this miss measurement, there is quite a disjunct where the conrner of the panels would be expected to meet. I've put on a hand clamp, to try and squeeze the junction point toghether, this is a test for later when I glue the panels. I want to see if I can close the gap enought to be able to end up with a finished product that is 'good enough' , I've decided it is workable. In truth I think with the use of a file, and some paint there will be no flaw in the finished product. |
