Weather Conditions:15 Deg C, Water cold few degrees above freezing
Directions to Set in or Trail head: West from Calgary to Hwy 40 (45mins), south on Hwy 40, turn off at the sign to the widomaker (just after the K-country info center)
Directions to Set in or Trail head: Take out at canoe medows. you passed it getting to the put in, about 3km back
Partners: Jan T; Russ B; B.K.; Tyson G.
Group experience level: Strong Intermediate/Advanced kayakers, plus me.
Author's Experience level: Intermediate Canoest (so my ego says)
riverGrade:Grade II+ - Intermediate with higher rapids
Boat Type Used:Huron Cruiser Strip Canoe - ala Ted Moores' book Canoe Craft. Everyone else in WW kayaks.
Authors Trip Rating:Good early escape from work trip.
Trip's Good Points:Fairly close to calgary, controlled water flow, River maintained with man made features
